A publication, not a clinic
There is no shortage of websites explaining what asthma is. There is a real shortage of places that will tell you, specifically, what the air and the ground where you live are measured to be doing - and then what you can actually do about it.
lung.com is the second thing. It publishes environmental and public-health measurements for all 3,143 US counties, and it stops there.
What we publish
Radon zones from the EPA, air quality summaries from EPA monitors, respiratory disease prevalence from CDC PLACES and lung cancer rates from the National Cancer Institute - all joined to the county you live in. Every figure traces to a federal release, and the source sits under the table it fills.
Nothing here is generated. There is no author writing 3,000 articles about counties they have never been to. There is a data pipeline, and there are pages that display what it produces. When a source does not report a value, the page shows a dash.
What we deliberately do not do
We do not diagnose, we do not run a symptom checker, and we do not tell anyone what condition they have. We publish the eligibility criteria and the measurements; the conclusions are for you and a clinician.
We do not take payment for referring anyone to a laboratory, clinic, treatment facility, insurer or medical equipment supplier. We do not run Medicare or Medigap lead generation. We do not sell supplements. These are the lanes where a site with this audience makes money fastest, and they are all closed here on purpose.
How it pays for itself
Through home services. A reader who discovers their county is in EPA Radon Zone 1 usually wants their house tested, and if it tests high, fixed. We connect them with certified radon measurement and mitigation contractors, and those contractors pay for the introduction.
That is a homeowner hiring a builder. It is not a patient being referred for care, and the difference is not cosmetic - it is what keeps this site out of a category of law designed to stop people being sold treatment they do not need.

Privacy is part of the product
No advertising pixels, no behavioural targeting, no sharing what you read with an ad platform. The county lookup runs in your browser and never sends what you type anywhere. The full commitment is on the privacy page, and it is written as a promise rather than a disclosure because health sites have earned the scepticism.
Corrections
If a figure here is wrong, it is either wrong in the source or wrong in our join, and we want to know which. Tell us and we will check it against the release and fix it.
